Elvis - ADOPTED!
Elvis has been adopted by a great family!
Meet Elvis, the Goffin's Cockatoo.

Elvis is a 14 year old female Goffin's Cockatoo. Yes, she was named after the King of Rock and Roll. She doesn't sing like he did, but hopefully she can make your heart flutter.

Elvis will step up, and sometimes will step up onto a stick. As you can see, Elvis is a plucker. She tries to fly, but it wouldn't be safe to allow her to do so. She plays with toys, and has a serious dislike of children.

This girl will need someone with some cockatoo experience. She's experienced loss and that caused her to pluck and become a little anxious. She will bite, but she seems to do it when she's overwhelmed or overstimulated. Due to the extensive feather destructive behavior, the majority of her feathers will never grow back. Elvis does well with adults, both men and women, but wouldn't be a good fit for a home with small children.

Adoptions require multiple visits over the course of at least 2 weeks before the bird can go home with you. We look for the interaction between the bird and the prospective owner. It's important that the bird can form a bond with you and if the bird makes it clear that it does not like you, then the adoption will not be possible.
